Since a few updates ago I get semi-regular random crashes when I’m playing Deadlock now. It crashes so hard sometimes I have to restart my computer to get back in (because it gets stuck in “validating files” at 0%). Today I was playing for 4 hours and on the 5th game I finish lane phase and crash. I can’t find any rhyme or reason to it. Then because I have to restart even if I rejoin and win the game (which we did) I get banned for 6 hours and deranked a couple of tiers. Because of this I can’t climb and am stomping in the blue/green ranks.
I know this has been posted about a lot, there must be a ton of crash reports. Please make the game more stable. I’m literally forced to smurf by the game because even with a 5 win streak I’m losing ranks, and I know it’s not just me in this position.
I have no mods installed, have a good, clean and updated PC that doesn’t crash anywhere else (over 1000 games on Steam alone) and have played this game for hundreds of hours in the past without this issue.
Crashes can ruin games for the 12 players involved. Please prioritise the stability of the game or release a known issues list with problematic drivers, etc if you already have analysed the data and found correlations.
Note: I think running Steam as administrator seems to help with the validating files getting stuck, will have to test more. Still doesn’t fix the main issue.
