Pausing a match can cause severe FPS drops (down to ~1 FPS) for multiple players

I’ve encountered an issue twice now where pausing a match appears to cause a massive performance degradation for many, if not all, players in the game.

Observed behavior:

  • A player pauses the match.

  • After the pause, the game starts running at around 1 FPS.

  • The issue seems to affect multiple players simultaneously.

  • The low FPS persists for an extended period and does not immediately recover.
    Recent occurrence:

  • Match ID: 87391014

  • Approximate time: 22–23 minutes into the match
    This also happened in another match yesterday, which makes me think it may not be an isolated incident.

It might be worth checking whether the pause/unpause system is triggering something that causes a severe performance issue across clients.

Had the same happening to me as well very early on in the match. The whole lobby had to disconnect and rejoin in order to stabilise their frame rate. Otherwise it would play like a slide presentation.

you mean when the lights keep multiplying and turn into the sun itself? if so, that’s kind of a bummer, given it has been pointed out many times.
